Overview
Position Description The Shop Assistant is responsible for assisting the Facility & Asset Supervisor with logistics support for ongoing project operations and for maintaining the facilities and assets within the Alaska region.
Position Essential Job FunctionsGeneral Duties
- Provide logistical support, coordination, and purchasing for daily operations, as well as similar support for ongoing field projects
- Coordinate and organize mobilization/demobilization of equipment, including scheduling trucks, loading/unloading, and purchasing
- Coordinate delivery of project supplies to field personnel, delivery and pick-up of equipment to and from assigned regional offices
- Assist in tracking, recording, and filing scheduled maintenance of equipment, and tracking locations of equipment while in use on projects
- Update and maintain current inventory, including consumables, safety supplies, and equipment spare parts for shop use
- Maintain a proper record and tracking system for purchasing, shipping, and receiving
- Properly utilize the current space to house assets at the direction of the Facility and Asset Supervisor
- Maintain a clean work area within the shop and outside storage facilities
- Other duties as assigned
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid State Driver’s License
Experience
- Experience with Diving Systems (preferred)
- Experience in Commercial Diving or the Maritime Industry (preferred)
Knowledge/Skills
- Excellent Verbal, Written, and Electronic Communication Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills
- Current knowledge of DOT regulations
- Ability to preserve the confidentiality of proprietary company information
- Professional demeanor when working with all levels of associates
- Strong Microsoft Suite Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to lift 25-50lbs. Must be able to withstand the following for up to 8-12 hours per day in all weather conditions (Sun, Rain, Sleet, and Snow): stand, walk, push, pull, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, climb stairs and ladders; repetitive reaching, repetitive hand use
- Must be able to pass DOT physical and maintain a current DOT medical card to drive company vehicles
- Ability to work any day of the week, both night and day
- Ability to travel
- Be able to pass a DOT Drug Screen
- Be able to pass a Background Check
