Position: MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR with Security Clearance
Duties Help - Drives one or more types of medium trucks and special purpose vehicles, such as platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, forklift trucks to transport supplies, materials and equipment, which may be equipped with air brakes.

- Performs operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing of vehicles and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation.

- Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.

- Performs fleet servicing on AMC and non-AMC aircraft by sweeping and mopping interior flooring of aircraft; cleaning, removing and replacing portable latrines, refuse cans, coffee and water jugs; draining and filling water tanks; cleaning galleys/ATGL's, wash basins and lavatory fixtures - Inventories and receipts for all non-expendable fleet service equipment aboard inbound aircraft.

- Transports, cleans, stores and performs minor maintenance of Fleet Service/aircraftequipment.

* This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
* This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations.
* Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available.
* This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
* IAW, DoDI 3020-42, Defense Continuity Programs. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5700 Transportation/Mobile Equipment Operation Group. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is ability to do the work of a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR without more than normal supervision. JOB ELEMENTS:
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of and skill in operating one or more gasoline, diesel or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a GVW of more than 10, 000 and up to 33, 000 pounds (+/-based on applicable vehicle/equipment Technical Order) such as platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, latrine servicing trucks, 25K/NGSL loaders, 250 gallon water trucks, 3 ton hi-lift trucks, 10K/10K AT forklifts, passenger vans, shuttle buses and cargo vans.

2. Knowledge of cargo handling, hauling and techniques for safeguarding and protecting cargo/equipment and interpret technical orders and regulation.
3. Knowledge of traffic and safety regulations, practices and procedures pertaining to motor vehicle and forklift operation.
4. Knowledge of passenger safety rules including those regarding the use of seatbelts.
5. Ability to judge road/traffic conditions and read maps to determine the shortest safest route.
6. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. related to motor vehicle and forklift operation and preventative maintenance.
7. Reliability and dependability to meet pickup and delivery deadlines and schedules. Knowledge of basic rules of sanitation and the ability to use cleaning products such as detergents, soaps, sanitizers, air fresheners, etc. and the ability to follow directions provided by various product manufacturers.
