As a Mechanic, the incumbent is a full journey-level, heavy‑duty mechanic specialist. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, analyzing, and repairing gasoline and diesel engines, rebuilding drive‑train components, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems of heavy construction, snow removal and ARFF equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical system failures. Perform roadside service on equipment, daily maintenance, service, and safety inspections, and maintain shop records including work orders, parts order forms, and timesheets.

Working environmentThis position is located at the Anchorage International Airport. Employees maintain critical transportation infrastructure across Alaska’s diverse terrain and extreme weather conditions. The role demands adaptability and resourcefulness. The position is eligible for overtime and shift differential as it supports a 24/7/365 international airport.
