STREET Maintenance Assistant; Airport Maintenance Assistant - Non-Cdl License - Range​/ENG

Eligibility

Open to the public, International Union of Operating Engineers (Local 302) members, and any current Municipal Employees.

Maintenance & Operations.

Monday to Sunday;
Hours vary;
May work nights.

• Internal applicants currently working under the International Union of Operating Engineers (Local 302) Collective Bargaining Agreement
• Local union dispatched applicants
• External applicants and other current Municipal employees not covered under this agreement

Under supervision, performs manual work of an unskilled and routine nature for the Municipality of Anchorage's Maintenance and Operations Street Maintenance Department. Work involves moderate to heavy physical exertion in the clearing and removal of litter, debris, snow, and ice. Performs tasks in clean-up and minor, unskilled maintenance of structures, equipment and grounds. Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Physical capability to perform the work described
• Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire
• Satisfactory background check (criminal, education, and employment history) at time of hire

Union referred applicants must provide Union Dispatch Referral Form by the time of hire.

Veterans may attach DD Form 214, DD Form 256, NGB Form 22, or a letter from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs stating honorable discharge. Current National Guard or organized military reserve members may provide proof of service. Minimum qualifications must be met for preference consideration.
