Job Summary
This position is responsible for weighing customer trucks, issuing proof of purchase tickets, collecting payment, and working with internal and external customers to ensure delivery of the proper materials to their job site.
This is a seasonal position located at Glenn Hwy Mile Post 70.
- Review and make changes to the daily materials dispatch to ensure the correct materials are being delivered to the correct locations and customers.
- Ensure all trucks entering the facility tare weigh across scales prior to receiving a load of aggregate and/or asphalt concrete to maintain compliance with California Weights and Measures guidelines.
- Utilize the JWS system to assign trucks to the proper customer, order location, product, and tare weight before loading, and verify correctness after the order is filled.
- Verify that loaded trucks are loaded correctly (not exceeding weight limits) to ensure compliance with State Weights and Measures regulations.
- Utilize and review the dispatch menu to confirm that the correct number of trucks ordered by the materials dispatcher have arrived at the plant to load; add any new orders as they are received.
- Maintain ongoing communication with plant foremen and loaders to ensure timely loading of customer trucks.
- Assist the materials dispatcher with material orders when needed to meet customer requirements.
- Prepare and deliver various reports to ensure company policies are met.
- Perform routine upkeep and housekeeping duties to keep the facility clean and professional.
- Comply with and support corporate safety initiatives to maintain a safe work environment.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED. - Work Experience:
Commercial or retail sales experience preferred. - Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Understanding of materials business; experience with Hot Mix Asphalt Plants preferred; general understanding of plant operations and mechanical requirements; strong understanding of federal, state, and local laws, policies, and procedures; ability to establish relationships with agencies and represent Granite in public forums; strong public speaking and communication skills.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.

- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
