Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Airfield Maintenance is looking for an Equipment Operator Journey 1/2 Flex to help keep Alaska moving.
Paid hourly, rate varies by location. Equipment Operator Journey 1 $ 27.84/hr, Journey 2 $ 29.66/hr.
What You Will Be DoingAs a member of the Airfield Maintenance team at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC), you will operate and maintain a modern fleet of snow removal equipment, ensuring safe operations of Alaska’s largest airport.
Primary Duties- Operate heavy equipment including loaders, motor graders, dump trucks, snow removal machines, sand spreaders, backhoes, and tractor‑tanker combinations.
- Perform snow and ice removal on runways, taxiways, aprons, roadways, parking lots, and sidewalks during rapidly changing weather conditions.
- Maintain airfield infrastructure through pavement marking installation, asphalt and concrete repairs, vegetation management, and security inspections.
- Communicate effectively on company and air‑to‑ground radio systems while operating safely in an active airfield environment around aircraft.
- Support emergency response activities and perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks.
- Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for Journey 1 or Class A CDL for Journey 2.
- For Journey 1, a Class A CDL must be obtained within 180 days of hire.
- For Journey 2, an N‑Tanker endorsement must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Obtain and maintain an Airport Security Badge.
- Complete Airport Movement Area Driver Certification (FAA Part 139.329) before operating vehicles in movement areas.
- Hold a valid Alaska CDL and comply with DOT&PF drug and alcohol policy.
