HAZMAT Truck Driver​/Lab Pack Technician

Job Overview

Clean Harbors in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Class A CDL HAZMAT Truck Driver/Lab Pack Technician to operate a variety of heavy and light duty trucks/work equipment at customer sites. The role includes driving and non-driving duties associated with hazardous waste clean‑up, including handling, segregating, packing, and inspecting chemical waste in compliance with federal, state, local regulations and company procedures.

A $7,000 sign‑on bonus is available to those with a Class A CDL, unrestricted and endorsed with Tanker + Hazmat.

New hires will attend a two‑week Academy training out of state. Expenses are covered by the company and the training is paid. After training, the position requires 50% overnight travel.

• Ensure health and safety by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers as needed.
• Operate a variety of Class A trucks.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Perform manual labor on site to fulfill customer needs.
• Properly placard vehicles to meet company and DOT requirements.
• Maintain daily logs, timesheets, and various reports.
• Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements.
• Observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
• Engage in site‑remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.

Required qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL, unrestricted.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Perform required physical functions.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical examination.
• Meet facial hair standards per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard 29 CFR 1910.34.

Preferred qualifications:

• Commercial driver experience.
• Previous Hazmat experience.
• Previous manual labor experience.
