Equipment Operator, Lead/Journey 3 – Dillingham
The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Region Highways & Aviation is looking for an Equipment Operator, Lead/Journey 3 in Dillingham to support operations and maintenance for the Dillingham Certified Airport, nine rural airports, and 79 miles of state highways.
Responsibilities- Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF), TSA safety and security checks, and airport certification compliance.
- Roadway operations including crack sealing, snow and ice control, pavement marking, pothole patching, blading, and wildlife control.
- Operate various equipment safely and efficiently under changing weather and operational conditions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to maintain regulatory and safety requirements.
- Accountability – Deliver measurable, high‑quality results and comply with control systems.
- Conscientiousness – Demonstrate accountability and responsibility in all tasks.
- Flexibility – Adapt quickly to new information and changing priorities.
- Self-Management – Work with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.

- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) - required at hire.
- Must obtain an N‑Tanker endorsement within 90 days of hire.
- Completed FAA‑approved aircraft rescue‑firefighting (ARFF) training and demonstrate ARFF competencies.
- Authorized to possess and use firearms for duties.
