• Professionally maintain all heavy‑duty and light‑duty equipment and vehicles associated with the construction and maintenance of secondary roads, rural airports and other user agency vehicles.
• Resolve unusual or complex equipment problems through a variety of techniques and methods. Perform routine and specialized repair and maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, repair and modify transmissions, drive trains, suspension, engine and emission, fuel injection, hydraulic systems, and brake systems (air and electrical) for light and heavy‑duty equipment.

• Mechanical:
  Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
• Flexibility:
  Open to change and new information; rapidly adapts to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles.
• Vehicle Maintenance:
  Knowledge of motor vehicle engines, parts, and systems, including their design, repair and maintenance.
• Self‑Management:
  Sets well‑defined and realistic personal goals; displays initiative, effort, and commitment; works with minimal supervision and is motivated to achieve.

• A copy of your Class A CDL, front and back (if applicable).
• Three (3) professional references – include name, title and phone number.

The incumbent must possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). A Class A Alaska CDL must be obtained within 120 days of hire and signed into an agreement. The incumbent also must register with the federal CDL drug and alcohol testing clearinghouse and comply with DOT & PF Drug and Alcohol Policy.

Work must be carried out in Alaska’s diverse and expansive terrain, under extreme weather conditions. The role requires adaptability and resourcefulness to maintain infrastructure across remote and urban locations.
