- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages
- Reproduce, bind, store, and inventory printed materials and Company forms
- Make deliveries and pick up materials from job sites and other locations using Company vehicles
- Review the Distribution team master calendar and advise the Supervisor of potential conflicts
- Order and maintain inventory; expedite shipments and resolve vendor errors
- Source and purchase materials using procurement cards or written bids; reconcile procurement cards monthly
- Set up material masters and update LEC and Wireless inventory control systems
- Process repairs, returns, out-of-box failures, RA requests, shipping documentation, and repair tracking
- Process surplus inventory adjustments
- Conduct physical inventory counts, prepare reports, and resolve variances
- Prepare and track requisitions and purchase orders; obtain freight quotes, audit bills, review invoices, and prepare check requests
- Track departmental expenditures and prepare monthly variance reports
- Coordinate travel arrangements
- Receive, inspect, and enter materials into inventory systems
- Package and ship materials in compliance with Hazmat laws
- Stock storage areas and issue or transfer materials using inventory systems
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks with lift gates, and other material-handling equipment
- Perform minor maintenance on warehouse tools and equipment
- Sort surplus or returned materials for inventory, credit, recycling, or scrapping
- Train others in MMS classification and assist with daily work assignments and warehouse coordination
- Ensure production meets Company standards for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Travel to other warehouses for vacation coverage and annual inventories
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Associate’s degree and one (1) year experience in computerized inventory control, warehousing, purchasing, or shipping
- May substitute High school diploma or GED plus three (3) years general office experience for the education requirement
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse procedures and telephone equipment gained through three (3) years of warehouse experience operating under a computerized inventory control system
- At least two years must have been in a local telephone company warehouse, Signal Corps warehouse or a communications company warehouse
- Anchorage MMS II Only: valid Certificate of Medical Examination (Medical Card) and successful Drug and Alcohol Background check
- Valid Alaska driver’s license
- MMS II: forklift training and certification within 90 days of attaining the MMS II classification
- MMS II: IATA and CFR part 49 Hazardous Materials certification within 180 days of attaining the MMS II classification
- Ability to lift 50 lbs on a repetitive basis to a height of 3 feet or 5 feet (MMS II’s)
- Successfully pass a keyboarding test at 30 WPM; internal MMS applicants are not required to provide test results
- Experience using personal computers, word processing and spreadsheet software, and a variety of applications
- External applicants must pass a pre-employment suitability assessment and drug test
- MMS II: ability to maneuver 2,500-pound pallets using a manual pallet jack
- Unable to support remote international applicants or routinely sponsor work visas
Demonstrates expertise in computerized inventory control, warehousing, and purchasing, with a strong focus on compliance and accuracy in material handling and shipping processes. Proficient in operating material-handling equipment and maintaining inventory systems while ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
