Job Title
Continuous Improvement Engineer
OverviewShaw Industries is hiring a Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead continuous improvement projects, provide training, coaching, and mentoring to continuous improvement sources for Plant 65 in Andalusia, AL, and deploy corporate continuous improvement initiatives within the plant. The CI Engineer will report directly to the Extrusion Plant Manager with dotted line reporting to the Residential Premium Divisional Continuous Improvement Leader.
Responsibilities- Plan and facilitate annual strategic planning and ensure project deliverables are produced on time.
- Conduct team activities such as team meetings, kaizen events, and project deliverables.
- Act as an expert consultant to project teams and plant management on program decisions, strategy, design, and analysis methods, leading investigations to support process improvement efforts.
- Investigate and innovate with new technologies that promote continuous improvement behaviors, eliminate waste, and improve efficiency.
- Provide thought leadership and participate in division process improvement programs.
- Lead annual assessments on the health of Continuous Improvement, LSW, Tier systems across the plant.
- Help grow revenue and profitability by improving quality and lead times.
- Account for improvements in associate engagement, safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.
- Attract, retain, and develop manufacturing level process improvement resources.
- Oversee growth and development of continuous improvement trainees at all levels across the facility.
- Drive results by documenting activities and developing feedback reports to communicate project outcomes and savings.
- Passion for a culture of continuous improvement, with presence and leadership to enact plant and divisional change.
- Exceptional ability to coach internal and external teams.
- Proven extensive use of Kaizen, Leader Standard Work, Standard Work, and 5S tools.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously under tight schedules.
- Knowledge of data collection and interpretation; black belt certification preferred.
- Experience in project management, associated principles, and tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Additional training such as Green Belt preferred.

8‑hour non‑rotating shift. Hours fall to in‑punch day, observed calendar. Shift starts in the AM.
