Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for an Electrician Master V who will be responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, programming, and improvement initiatives of PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s and controls for plant equipment including process machines, automated material handling and process support equipment.
Responsibilities- Execute assigned tasks with focus on safe work practices, high quality precision work and customer service in support of “Great Products & Service.”
- Adhere to standards and best practices acquired through training and experience, and share maintenance knowledge through mentoring lower‑grade electricians.
- Provide feedback on job assignment needs and improvement opportunities with peers and leadership.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and lead repairs of equipment causing safety, quality, downtime or productivity issues.
- Differentiate cause types among product, process, mechanical and electrical contributors; communicate findings and design/implement corrective actions.
- Verify, provide feedback and update electrical schematics in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development of proactive maintenance plans including preventive maintenance (PM) and condition maintenance (CM) activities, and ensure any necessary updates to schematics are completed.
- Execute assigned or scheduled work orders supporting critical projects and process improvement efforts.
- Mentor Reliability Electrician II–IV in developing needed skills and oversee projects linked to manufacturing systems.
- Safety practices: LOTO, confined space, PPE, hot work, pit, fall protection, hoisting and rigging.
- Calculator and computer application for work order documentation and parts requisitioning.
- Measurement units, techniques and application of appropriate tools including process calibrators, oscilloscope, IR camera, data loggers and data archival/analysis.
- Math skills: arithmetic, conversion of measurement units, formulas such as current, voltage, etc.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics/prints; update electrical prints/schematics assigned for modification.
- Proper use of tools and selection of the right tool for the work assignment.
- Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Advanced understanding of e‑stop systems and troubleshooting of electrical components (PLC’s, AC & CD drives, relay logic, single loop controllers, pneumatics & hydraulics).

- Pay rate: $35.73 per hour
- Work shift:
12‑hour rotating shift, with change of start time in the rotation
