Electrician - Industrial

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in manufacturing facility
• Maintain all components required to control machinery, including switches, sensors, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and interface units
• Recognize and effectively identify hazards and correct electrical defects
• Perform preventative maintenance on all electrical systems and equipment
• Inspect and maintain motors, switches, junction boxes, switch panels, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, and lighting
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical installations
• Install electrical conduit and pull wire
• Lay and thread conduit, pull wire, and work off ladders
• Change electric motors and understand NEMA frame sizing
• Maintain efficiency and safety of all plant electrical circuits, assemblies, and equipment
• Troubleshoot and install encoders, linear transducers, vision systems, and other advanced sensors
• Identify and help implement process improvements to optimize performance and production
• Effectively troubleshoot issues for best resolution while staying calm in stressful situations
• Communicate effectively, comprehend, and follow complicated verbal and written instructions
• Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area
• Work may consist of overtime during busy production times

• 2 years recent verifiable sawmill/industrial and motor controls experience
• Demonstrated ability to Arc weld or Stick weld
• Understanding of industrial electrical safety, MCCs, three‑phase power, running conduit, lighting, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Knowledge of photocells, limit switches, encoders, proximity sensors, analog and digital devices, frequency drives, and three‑phase motors desired
• Basic ladder logic and PLC reading/writing preferred
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers and their programming, preferable
• Read and understand blueprints and circuit diagrams
