JOB PURPOSE

PHINIA is seeking a dynamic Senior CAD Designer to support our Starter and Alternator business! The Computer Aided Designer position will work under minimal supervision developing 3D models and design documentation for both starter and alternator products and sub-components. Stack-up analysis will be a critical component of the job. The CAD design team is a small group, so the designer must be capable of creating the design data as well as working to check their and others work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

* Develop accurate complex design models and print documentation for components, sub-assemblies, and complete products.

* Provide critical dimension and tolerance information for the designs to engineering.

* Able to work as both the designer and checker for detail drawings and layouts.

* Perform CAD transfers when required.

* Perform geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) information for designs to engineering.

* Organized and structured workstyle and attention to detail required.

* Work independently in a "hands-on" manner and be comfortable in working with multiple engineers.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English languages are required.

* Strong PC knowledge and experience is a must.

* Must be self-motivated to take on work that is required by the program and see it to completion.

* Must possess creative intellect to solve problems and conceptualize new designs.

* Works with engineering direction for creating solutions.

* Identifies problems and offers solutions.

* Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel.

Job Requirements &

Skills:

* Associate degree with design focus and 5 years of design experience with Creo and/or NX CAD software

* Starter and alternator product CAD experience preferred

* Experience with Team Center PLM

* Strong analytical, statistical, and problem solving skills

* Able to work with limited supervision
