Camera Operator - Part Time (Harrah's Hoosier Park)

Job Summary

Responsible for direct line televised broadcast.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the camera during Live Racing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Proficient in English verbal and written.
  • One‑year certificate from college or technical school; or 3‑6 months related experience and/or training in television broadcasting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude; comfortable initiating conversations and fostering a fun environment for guests.
  • Must be able to operate, time, and color match all cameras with the Technical Director. Handle all filming required during Live Racing and assist with any other audio‑visual issues that arise. May also be required to perform Simulcast as needed.
  • Any certificates and/or licenses in video production, broadcasting, and/or PC‑related skills are a bonus.
  • Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays if applicable.
  • Must have clear vision at distances of 20 inches to 20 feet; specific abilities such as close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively.
  • Must have basic PC knowledge and be able to use programs such as Excel, Word, Photoshop, Sorenson Squeeze, and Nero.
  • Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply by 10’s and 100’s, using units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
  • Promote a positive influence in the company and company‑sponsored events. Maintain a professional work environment with management and staff.
  • Must be able to work in a smoking environment when needed.
  • Must be able to climb a 40‑foot tower ladder and maintain balance.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts, in outdoor weather conditions, and under wet or humid conditions; risk of electric shock exists.
  • Must obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Gaming Commission (Non‑Gaming) and Indiana Horse Racing Commission.
