We’re looking for a Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) Manager to join our supportive, purpose-driven team. The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Manager is responsible for the supervision, leadership, and oversight of BHTs. This role ensures high-quality client care, client safety, staff development, compliance, and effective collaboration with other departments.
Job Responsibilities:- Provides direct supervision to, and evaluation of, Assistant BHT Manager and BHT staff
- Coordinates with Human Resources for staffing and personnel decisions including reviewing applicants, engaging in interviews, and addressing disciplinary action when necessary
- Provides job specific training, ongoing monitoring, and feedback to BHTs
- Coaches staff in deescalation, therapeutic communication, and boundary maintenance
- Monitor behavioral health staff adherence to policy and procedures including ensuring completion of competencies, trainings, policy acknowledgements, documentation requirements, meeting attendance, and required certifications
- Redirects all staff behavior that does not align with the organization’s values and promote a positive culture
- Coordinate BHT meetings and co-facilitate with Assistant BHT Manager
- Ensure a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment as well as proper supervision levels and safety checks
- Oversee implementation of treatment plan goals for clients as directed by clinicians
- Log facilities requests in MaintainX
- Participate in meetings as requested (operations, clinical, interdisciplinary, community)
- Complete and monitor all required documentation in a timely manner (client forms, shift notes to document clients’ behavior, status, and physical conditions, one on one supervision meetings, all staff meetings, etc.)
- Assist clients with daily activities including providing emotional support and crisis intervention
- Facilitate group and individual activities
- Participate in on-call coverage with the Assistant BHT Manager
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma, GED required
- Primarily will work 2 nd shift
- Valid Driver’s License
- Commitment to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use is essential
- Proof of Insurance
- CPR or BLS certification (must be completed within 60 days of hire)
- Authorization to work in the US is required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experience desired
- Experience in residential, inpatient, and addiction treatment preferred
- Mobility - Twist, Bend, Stoop/squat, Move quickly (respond to emergency), Climb stairs, Walk, Stand
- Visual - See information up to 24 inches away (monitors, computer screens, skin conditions), See objects up to 20 feet away (patient in room), Use depth perception, Use of peripheral vision.
- Strength - Squeeze with hands (operate fire extinguisher)
- Other - Reach above shoulders/overhead, Reach below the waist (electrical plugs, etc.), Reach in front (assist patient with arms out), Pick up objects with hands, Write with pen, Use computer (type), Pinch/pick or otherwise work with fingers (use keyboard, etc.), Twist at waist, Twist wrists/hands (turn objects/knobs using hands).
