CNC Operator II
The CNC Operator II sets up and operates CNC lathes and related machining equipment to produce hydraulic parts according to blueprint specifications. This role performs advanced machine setup, quality inspection, and routine maintenance while contributing to a safe, efficient, and collaborative machine shop environment.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC lathes and related machining equipment to manufacture hydraulic components according to detailed blueprint specifications.
- Perform advanced machine setup activities, including tool selection, insert changes, and machine offsets to meet required tolerances.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure parts are produced accurately and consistently.
- Use gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and verify dimensional accuracy.
- Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality, efficiency, and equipment performance.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to keep equipment in optimal working condition.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to identify defects, nonconformities, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Work collaboratively in a small team environment, supporting coworkers and contributing to a positive, safety-focused culture.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with facility standards and quality requirements.
- At least 1 year of CNC machine operation experience.
- Demonstrated ability to perform insert changes on CNC equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret gauges and other measuring devices accurately.
- Proficiency in operating CNC lathes and related machining equipment.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with machining processes, including lathe and mill operations.
- Skilled in using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based machine shop environment.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and using required PPE.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with CNC mill setup and machining is beneficial.
- Familiarity with hydraulic part manufacturing and related tolerances is a plus.
- Comfort working with various gauges and measurement tools in a production environment.
- Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
- Reliability and willingness to work overtime when needed.

This is a first-shift position with hours from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the potential for 10 or more hours of overtime. The dress code is casual and practical, consisting of jeans, a t-shirt, and closed-toe shoes.
Personal protective equipment is required, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and a high-visibility vest, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anderson, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
