Shift & Compensation

Shift: 1st Shift

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Possible OT as needed)

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour, based on experience

Job Duties

Our client is a manufacturer of large industrial machines designed to break down wooden pallets. We're looking for a hands-on mechanical assembler who brings real mechanical skill, and their own tools, to build these machines from the ground up using blueprints and assembly drawings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assemble large industrial equipment using your own hand tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings with minimal guidance
  • Install, fit, and secure metal and steel components
  • Perform mechanical assembly work including fastening, aligning, and adjusting parts
  • Troubleshoot basic fit and assembly issues during the build process
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 80 lbs. repeatedly throughout the workday
  • Operate a forklift as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Background Profile

They need people with a mechanical background who can read a tape measure properly. Experience in any of the following areas is valued:

  • Welding
  • Painting
  • Electrical
  • Framing
  • Reading blueprints
  • DOT / CDL
Additional requirements
  • Proven mechanical aptitude with hands-on assembly or equipment-building experience required
  • Must have your own basic hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, etc.) - see attached tool list
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings required
  • Must be able to read a tape measure properly
  • Need to be able to lift 80 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift
  • Forklift experience is a plus
  • Electrical or welding experience is a plus and may lead to cross-training opportunities
  • Willing to train candidates coming out of welding school - must be willing to learn and open to doing things a new way
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Tools Required

Candidates must supply their own tools:

  • Tool box or cart
  • Ball peen or mini sledge hammer
  • Tape measure "Name brand"
  • Set of screwdrivers
  • Wrench set Metric and Standard
  • Socket set Metric and Standard
  • Combination square
  • Channel locks
  • Allen wrench set Metric and Standard
  • Punch set
  • Weld hood (for welders)
  • Welpers (for welders)
Skills Required

Must have:

  • Able to read a tape measure properly
  • Basic math skills (Addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and how to use them
  • Lift 80 lbs
  • Handle basic power tools (drills, impacts, grinders etc.)
  • Be able to work alone or on a team
Desired
  • Knowledge of machinery (lathe, mill, drill press, bandsaw, torch, plasma cutter)
  • Blueprint reading
  • Fabrication experience
  • Welding (MIG welding not machine or robot welding)
  • Electrical knowledge (Single phase, 3 phase, machine control voltage)
  • Problem solving
