Essential Duties
  • Provides prompt excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly and attentive manner.
  • Greets customers as they enter and thanks them as they leave.
  • Provides assistance and offers suggestions or recommendations.
  • Rings up all sales on cash register accurately, handling money, checks, and other payment types.
  • Performs multi‑function operation of fuel console, lottery machines, money‑order machine, telecom transactions, etc.
  • Reports to work on time and follows dress and appearance code.
  • Maintains store facility’s condition and equipment to company/brand standards through cleaning and housekeeping duties.
  • Inspects store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order, notifying the Store Manager of failures or maintenance needs.
  • Completes build‑to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise and receives/verifies vendor deliveries.
  • Maintains adequate stock throughout the store and supplies in counter areas, rotating stock properly.
  • Places advertising and pricing signage inside or outside the facility.
  • Controls merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses.
  • Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits.
  • Keeps accurate cash, sales and inventory control records and accounts for variances.
  • Notifies the Store Manager of sales, cash or inventory discrepancies.
  • Follows company/brand guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
  • Reports all incidents including employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage, or improper disposal.
  • Reports unsafe or unethical conduct.
  • Keeps accurate record of all shift and timekeeping paperwork.
  • May take inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Attends job‑related meetings and may be required to work irregular hours.
  • Provides regular and predictable onsite attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in retail sales preferred.
  • Ability to accurately operate a variety of equipment including cash registers or scanners, hot or cold beverage dispensers, and other machines or tools.
  • Ability to work as scheduled, arriving to work on time.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly.
  • Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) preferred.
  • Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described.
  • Ability to work in the conditions described.
Physical Requirements

Physical activity includes exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes, working in a walk‑in cooler or freezer, occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead, up to 50 pounds from ground to waist, grasping, reaching, manipulating objects, pushing/pulling with arms up to 20 pounds, reaching overhead, bending and twisting at waist, communicating orally, operating a cash register and/or computer keyboard, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing, pulling, working alone, exposure to occasional noise, standing and walking for an entire shift, and possibly climbing a ladder to retrieve materials or signs.

Work

Environment

Approximately 95% of work is performed indoors; required tasks include cleaning parking lots, operating gas pumps, taking out garbage, and exposure to extreme cold temperatures. The environment involves exposure to occasional noise and requires minimum direction and periodic supervision.
