If you’re energized by turning complex shop-floor activity into crisp financial insights, this role is for you. As a Cost Accounting Specialist focused on production and inventory, you’ll connect the dots between ERP data, operational drivers, and financial results—so leaders can make better, faster decisions.

What you will ownCost Accounting & Inventory Control Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead.

Perform variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) and explain fluctuations to operations.

Monitor receipts, transfers, and adjustments; reconcile the inventory subledger to the general ledger.

Support cycle counts and physical inventory activities.

Close & Reporting Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.

Support preparation of financial statements and management reporting.

Planning & Decision Support Assist in building annual budgets and forecasts.

Track performance against plan and highlight emerging trends.

Provide financial analysis that guides operational decision-making.

Systems & Internal Controls Maintain cost data within ERP platforms (IQMS, SAP, Oracle, or similar).Ensure internal controls over financial reporting and inventory are effective.

Business Partnership Collaborate with production, supply chain, and operations to validate and improve cost data.

Champion process improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Translate financial insights for non-finance audiences.

What you bring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2–5 years of accounting experience; manufacturing environment preferred.

Strong background in cost or inventory accounting strongly preferred.

Excel expertise (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) and solid GAAP knowledge.

Comfort with ERP systems such as IQMS, SAP, Oracle, or comparable tools.

Sharp analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to work independently under deadlines.

Clear, collaborative communication style.

Nice to haveCPA or progress toward certification.

Hands-on experience with standard costing and variance analysis.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.

Where you’ll work Mainly office-based with regular engagement on the production floor.

Extended hours may be needed at month-end close or during audits.
