Greer First Preschool is seeking a passionate, nurturing, and highly motivated Kindergarten (K5) Teacher to lead our growing K5 program. As a Christ-centered preschool, we are committed to providing a loving, faith-filled environment where children develop academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who enjoys building and shaping a newer kindergarten program. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, flexible, and enthusiastic about partnering with families while creating an engaging classroom that prepares students for lifelong learning.

  • Our program runs September
    - May (Staff start at the end of August) and during the school year we follow Greenville County School District's calendar.
  • Staff hours are 8:00 AM- 1:30 PM, Monday
    - Friday
  • $19- $23 per hour
  • We receive 9 paid holidays during the school year, one week of paid vacation and staff childcare discount (if applicable).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate daily lessons aligned with kindergarten learning standards.
  • Foster a warm, safe, and Christ-centered classroom environment where every child feels loved and valued.
  • Integrate biblical principles and age-appropriate Bible lessons into daily instruction and classroom interactions.
  • Teach foundational literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, handwriting, and social-emotional skills.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs of each student.
  • Assess student progress using formal and informal assessments and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, classroom activities, and upcoming events.
  • Create meaningful learning centers and hands-on activities that encourage exploration and critical thinking.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom.
  • Collaborate with the Preschool Director and fellow teachers to support school initiatives and foster program growth.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and family activities as requested.
  • Supervise students during classroom instruction, recess, lunch, dismissal, and other school activities.
  • Model Christian character, kindness, patience, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Help promote and strengthen the kindergarten program through excellence in teaching and positive relationships with families.

Qualifications:

  • South Carolina teaching certification is required for this position.
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching kindergarten or early elementary students preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development and kindergarten readiness skills.
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
  • Proficiency with basic technology used for lesson planning and parent communication.
  • Must successfully complete all required background screenings.
  • Complete 15 hours of online training each year.
  • Must be physically able to actively supervise and engage with young children throughout the school day.
  • Agree to abide by all Greer First Preschool, DSS and DHEC policies.
