Substitute Teacher
In the absence of the full time classroom teacher, the substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages student's progress, and manages the learning environment.
- Report to the assigned school each scheduled workday and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- Serve as a substitute teacher in classrooms as assigned by school administration.
- Follow lesson plans and instructional directions provided by the classroom teacher and/or administration.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, positive, and productive learning environment for students.
- Provide appropriate supervision of students and consistently follow school and district expectations for student behavior and safety.
- Carry out established classroom routines, procedures, and schedules.
- Maintain professional and respectful interactions with students, staff, families, and visitors.
- Protect the confidentiality of student, employee, and school information.
- Follow all Anderson School District Five policies, procedures, safety requirements, and school-level expectations.
- Be flexible and willing to work with students across various grade levels, subject areas, classrooms, and school settings based on daily needs.
- When not assigned to a classroom, perform school-related duties and provide operational, instructional, clerical, supervisory, or other support as directed by school administration.
- Assist with student supervision in areas such as arrival, dismissal, hallways, cafeteria, recess, or other school activities as assigned.
- Support teachers and staff with appropriate school-related tasks when classroom coverage is not needed.
- Respond professionally and appropriately to changing needs and assignments throughout the school day.
- Use school technology, equipment, and resources appropriately and responsibly.
- Communicate concerns regarding students, safety, behavior, or assigned responsibilities promptly to the appropriate administrator.
- Demonstrate initiative, dependability, professionalism, and a willingness to contribute wherever support is needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED is required. Hourly $13.33 / Hours 7:30 AM- 3:00 PM
