Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will lead and oversee multiple projects on the Switchgear and Busbar BU, focusing on Anderson Operations to drive product transfers, new product introduction programs, process improvements, and capital projects that support growth across Vertiv plants. The role coordinates the development and enforcement of global manufacturing standards, collaborates with Design Engineering, Program Management, and Operations Teams to execute NPDI milestones, and aligns manufacturing plans with product roadmaps.
Responsibilities- Work closely with Line of Business Leaders to ensure manufacturing plans align with product roadmaps.
- Manage End of Line testing equipment, parameters, scripts, and associated Capex.
- Lead, develop, and implement manufacturing plans for assigned new products according to the NPDI program.
- Provide support for plant‑to‑plant product transfers and new product development programs.
- Support Vertiv manufacturing operations using standard processes, equipment, and methods.
- Identify, justify, pilot, and commission advanced manufacturing technologies, processes, equipment, and practices; lead capital projects that support growth, NPDI, product transfers, technical capacity, and footprint.
- Support manufactured cost analyses of new and existing products.
- Execute the Manufacturing Readiness Checklist and deliverables of the NPDI process.
- Lead manufacturing prototype builds with the local operation team to achieve 2‑week lead times.
- Act as a supportive role for engineering prototype builds with Design Engineering.
- Actively intervene in growth strategies for the assigned BU, footprint, and technical capacity definition.
- Implement best manufacturing practices for existing processes and provide multi‑site manufacturing engineering support.
- Assist with business‑critical capital projects including facility planning, layout, and cost justification.
- Minimum: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Operations Management, or equivalent, with 3–5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Preferred: M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, MBA, and 5+ years of advanced manufacturing experience.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma formal training or certifications.
- Extensive knowledge of formalized advanced and lean manufacturing applications.
- Extensive experience in new product development and product transfers.
- Excellent vertical communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively; coach, train, facilitate, and lead teams in a transformational environment.
- Strong project management and technical skills; analytical skills; PC skills.
- Ability to achieve results through team building and teamwork.
