Junior Mechanical Engineer
The Junior Mechanical Engineer on the Anderson Sustaining Engineering team is responsible for providing immediate response to design-related production issues, managing the Product Lifecycle for Switchgear designs, and improving Design for Manufacturability. Switchgear is an Engineered-To-Order (ETO) product, which means each customer order is specifically engineered for each customer order. This generally leads to higher complexity and variation for departments supporting this product family.
This position is ideal for individuals seeking a fast-paced environment that fosters problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Maintain Switchgear design Product Lifecycle Management
- Identify and Cross-Functionally Coordinate Design for Manufacturability Improvements (Safety, Quality, and Efficiency)
- Provide design support for issues discovered during production
- Provide design support for supply chain constraints
- Support New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI)
- Ensure quality of ETO design before release to production
- Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 1-3+ years of experience in 3D modeling / 2D drafting
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturability
- Understanding of Sheet Metal and Copper Design
- Excellent communications skills – written & verbal
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
