ADVANCED MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - JOB DESCRIPTION
Position SummaryAdvanced Manufacturing Engineer will lead and oversee multiple projects on Switchgear Power BU, focused on Anderson Operations. Responsibilities include leading product transfers, new product introduction programs, process improvements, and capital projects to support growth for target sites and standardize manufacturing processes across Vertiv plants. The position also coordinates the development and enforcement of global manufacturing standards and technology leadership, interacting directly with Design Engineering, Program Management, and Operations teams to execute NPDI milestones and deliverables.
Responsibilities- Work closely with Line of Business Leaders to ensure manufacturing plans align with product roadmaps.
- Responsible for end‑of‑line testing equipment, parameters, scripts, and associated Cap Ex.
- Lead, develop, and implement manufacturing plans for assigned new products according to the NPDI program.
- Provide direct support for plant‑to‑plant product transfers and new product development programs.
- Support Vertiv manufacturing operations using standard processes, equipment, and methods.
- Identify, justify, pilot, and commission advanced manufacturing technologies, processes, equipment, and practices. Lead capital projects that support growth, NPDI, product transfers, technical capacity, and footprint.
- Provide support for cost analyses of manufactured products.
- Execute the Manufacturing Readiness Checklist and deliver NPDI process outcomes.
- Lead prototype builds with local operations to achieve a two‑week lead time.
- Assume an accountable and supportive role for engineering prototype builds with Design Engineering.
- Actively intervene in growth strategies for the assigned BU, footprint, and technical capacity definition.
- Implement best manufacturing practices for existing processes and provide multi‑site engineering support.
- Assist with business‑critical capital projects including facility planning, layout, and cost justification.
BSME/IE/Business Operations Management and 3–5 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent.
Qualifications – PreferredMSME/IE/MBA and 5+ years of advanced manufacturing experience. Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma formal training or certifications.
Requirements- Extensive knowledge of formalized advanced and lean manufacturing applications.
- Extensive experience in new product development and product transfers.
- Excellent vertical communication, interpersonal, and motivation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and coach, train, facilitate, and lead teams in a transformational environment.
- Strong project management, technical, analytical, and PC skills.
- Ability to achieve results through teamwork and team building.
