To support its next phase of development, the company is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to lead and enhance the EHS function at its manufacturing facility in Anderson, South Carolina.

In this role, you will provide leadership and direction for all site Environmental, Health and Safety programs, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations while building a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture. You will work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, Quality, and Materials Management, as well as external service providers, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to identify and mitigate risks, improve EHS performance, and support continuous improvement throughout the facility.

You will be accountable for developing and implementing effective EHS policies, procedures, training programs, and performance measures while promoting employee engagement, regulatory compliance, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction for all Environmental, Health and Safety programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives across the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Manage, maintain, and continuously improve the site’s EHS management systems, supporting alignment with applicable standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, safe working practices, and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Conduct routine safety audits, workplace inspections, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and hazard-identification activities.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, environmental incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring the timely implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and deliver EHS orientation, training, and awareness programs for employees, supervisors, managers, contractors, and other site personnel.
  • Coordinate emergency response plans, business preparedness programs, evacuation procedures, drills, and site response activities.
  • Oversee environmental compliance programs relating to waste management, air emissions, chemical handling, spill prevention, water discharge, and other applicable operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, permits, documentation, regulatory reports, and required submissions, ensuring the facility remains prepared for internal and external audits.
  • Establish, monitor, analyze, and report on EHS performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending actions to reduce risk and improve performance.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, Quality, and Materials Management to ensure that equipment, processes, projects, and working practices meet established EHS requirements.
  • Participate in the evaluation, installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment and manufacturing processes to identify and address potential EHS risks.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers, consultants, contractors, waste-management companies, equipment vendors, and relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Support regulatory inspections, insurance audits, customer assessments, and corporate EHS reviews, coordinating responses and corrective actions where required.
  • Promote employee participation in safety programs and foster a culture of personal accountability, hazard awareness, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement.
