PositionSummary
The Intersect Group is seeking a Financial Operations Specialist II for a growing financial services organization in Greenville, SC. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reconciliation of high-volume payment transactions while supporting both internal stakeholders and external customers.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching complex payment issues, managing reconciliation activities, resolving transaction exceptions, and supporting payment automation initiatives. This position requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Research and resolve complex payment, reconciliation, and transaction-related issues.
- Investigate and process suspense items, rejected transactions, negative balances, refunds, and missing or misapplied payments.
- Manage payment monitoring activities, NSF/payment returns, deposit adjustment notices, and payment reconciliation processes.
- Perform cash-to-collections reconciliations and ensure accurate financial balancing.
- Partner with internal teams to identify process gaps, operational risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as a primary liaison with Business Intelligence teams to support and enhance payment automation initiatives.
- Maintain and update operational procedures while ensuring adherence to internal controls and compliance standards.
- Assist with quality assurance reviews, internal audits, reporting activities, team training, and onboarding efforts.
- 2+ years of experience in financial operations, treasury operations, payment processing, banking, accounting, reconciliation, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent financial or technical experience will be considered.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience researching financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and interpreting financial or operational data.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accountability when handling sensitive financial transactions. - Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, leadership, and executive stakeholders.
