POSITION SUMMARY:
The Psychiatrist takes direction from the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and is responsible for day-to-day mental health activities, including working with adults and children experiencing mental illness or psychological distress. In addition, the Psychiatrist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, providing psychiatric treatment, and helping prevent disorders of the mind in adults and children.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Included but not limited to the following);Overseeing the efficient and effective operations of all functional areas assigned to this position including providing patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the treatment of mental health problems and the promotion of mental health and wellbeing.
Assess, work-up, diagnose and provide psychiatric treatment and follow up care to patients of all age groups.
Adheres to all clinical protocols and actively participates in the improvement of behavioral health services.
Excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and effectively interact with multi-organizational staff levels.
Working with the CMO to ensure FCHC meets necessary regulatory and compliance approvals and appropriate quality accreditations.
Participating in FCHC’s monthly operation reviews as well as participating in corporate office meetings as deemed necessary.
Performs other duties, which may be assigned by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

RELATIONSHIP WITH CMO:Collaborates with the CMO to develop and sustain a dynamic planning process that includes:
Operationalizing mission, goals and policies and procedures
Developing strategic objectives
Estimating costs
Evaluation of results
Collect and provide the CMO with timely and relevant operational information and data to facilitate decision-making and evaluation.
Represent the organization and its interests to the community and with relative health and other community organizations.

Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation and leadership abilities that result in the effective exchange of information along with collaborative skills relative to patient interactions, family outreach and networking with other healthcare professionals.

Extensive knowledge and understanding of mental health care assessments and financial management.
Ability to work within a complex environment, with a variety of individuals.
Knowledge of established and evolving biomedical, clinical, epidemiological, and social-behavioral sciences, as well as the application of this knowledge to patient care.
Attend ongoing training programs and continuing mental health education.
Ability to investigate and evaluate their care of patients, to appraise and assimilate scientific evidence, and to continuously improve patient care based on constant self-evaluation and life-long learning.
Compliant with policies, clinical protocols, and guidelines; participates in performance improvement activities and provider-specific peer review activities.
