Lighthouse Lab Services is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Services Director to join a premier hospital system in Anderson, SC. This is a full-time position. ABOUT THE POSITION

The Laboratory Services Director plans, directs, organizes and is accountable for the operation of the system department. Develops short and long‑term goals and strategies, which are integrated into the system wide strategic plan. Prepares the department’s annual budget. Manages Departmental fiscal cost effectiveness. Maintains professional competence and current knowledge of professional practice. Provides leadership, training and counseling to staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures that all system wide owned or operated laboratories and the blood center are accredited and in compliance with CMS, DNV, CAP, CLIAA, AABB, FDA, HCFA, and other related regulatory or accrediting agencies.
  • Responsible for human resource management of laboratory employees, ensuring that all employees meet regulatory requirements and that training, education and competency are compatible with job assignments. Responsible for selection, performance evaluation, discipline, and termination of laboratory employees.
  • Ensures that Personnel policy and procedure is consistently enforced throughout the laboratory and that lab management staff promotes an environment conducive to good employee relations.
  • Responsible for the selection, acquisition, and implementation of equipment, methodology and supply systems to ensure high quality, cost effective and appropriate laboratory services that meet the needs of the physicians, clients and patients.
  • Develops an annual and long term departmental operational and capital budget based on the prudent assessment of needs, trends, and projections.
  • Develops, implements and maintains a comprehensive departmental quality management system and develops and participates in departmental and system wide process improvement efforts.
  • Responsible for accurate and compliant charge capture of procedures in compliance with all billing and coding standards related to laboratory medicine and reviews revenue cycle components such as denials and write offs for improvement.
  • Ensures a safe work environment and that all employees and lab processes are in compliance with local and national regulatory safety standards.
  • Ensures that the laboratory information systems are adequate, reliable, and functioning to the satisfaction of the medical staff and clients. Provides administrative resolution of problems pertaining to clinical integration issues with other systems. Develops procedures as needed to maintain system performance and usability.
