Citrix Architect

Job Description

Pay Range: $53.50/hr – $58.50/hr

• The Citrix Architect will serve as a Mid-Senior level VDI Architect responsible for providing level‑2 and level‑3 technical support for the Citrix and Xen Apps server environment.
• This role requires analysis and evaluation of complex system requirements and the development of secure, scalable virtual desktop infrastructure solutions.
• The ideal candidate will function as a Subject Matter Expert and ensure optimal performance, compliance, and client satisfaction within a controlled environment.

• Five or more years of experience with Citrix Xen App.
• Five or more years of experience with Xen Server administration.
• Five or more years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Five or more years of experience with Citrix App Layering.
• Experience working within complex VDI environments.
• Experience troubleshooting systems, identifying root causes, and creating corrective action plans.

• Provide level‑2 and level‑3 technical support for Citrix and Xen Apps server environments.
• Monitor the VDI platform using tools such as Net Scaler and Control
  
  UP.
• Support VDI end‑user sessions and the overall VDI stack.
• Manage and resolve VDI‑related incidents and service requests.
• Ensure virtual sessions are functioning as intended and meeting performance standards.
• Maintain updated software patches across Citrix platform server systems.
• Support Xen Desktop Broker including monitoring and alerting of Citrix and VMware applications.
• Ensure high levels of client satisfaction for supported products and solutions.
• Address technical questions related to VDI and Citrix environments.
• Participate in client meetings to provide updates and technical guidance.
• Serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert within the environment.
• Deploy and support core Microsoft services including Active Directory, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, and Group Policy.
• Analyze user requirements and provide direction for problem identification and resolution.
• Define system objectives and prepare system design specifications to meet user requirements.
• Provide one‑on‑one training and mentorship to team members as needed.
• Apply best practices to maximize production stability and performance.
• Ensure compliance with Controlled Unclassified Information requirements and approved security protocols.

• Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Citrix Administrator certification.
• Strong technical expertise in Citrix Xen Desktop and Xen Server technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows infrastructure.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Strong workflow analysis and technical collaboration skills.
• Ability to meet CUI compliance and secure workspace requirements.

• Advanced system testing tool knowledge and experience.
• Experience applying best practices in production VDI environments.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with both small and large groups.
• Adaptable, flexible, and self‑motivated mindset.
• Ability to address ambiguity and resolve conflicts proactively.

• Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field required.
• Equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
• Citrix Administrator certification required.
