Facilities Associate II

Position Summary

The Facilities Technician at Vertiv is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the facility by performing routine maintenance, equipment repairs, and building upkeep. This hands‑on role ensures that all systems, machinery, and infrastructure are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs on HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical systems.
• Respond promptly to facility‑related work orders, troubleshooting issues and resolving them effectively to reduce downtime.
• Assist in equipment installations, moves, and general facility modifications.
• Monitor and maintain building infrastructure including restrooms, breakrooms, common areas, and office space to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
• Work closely with contractors and vendors during repairs or project work; escort and monitor as needed for safety and compliance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs for equipment and work performed.
• Support workplace safety initiatives by identifying hazards and ensuring equipment and tools meet safety standards.
• Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and basic groundskeeping duties as needed (site‑dependent).
• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, and notify leadership when reorder is needed.
• Follow all Vertiv safety policies and procedures, promoting a clean and hazard‑free work environment.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building services, or general maintenance work.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
• Basic computer skills; ability to use maintenance software or CMMS (preferred).
• Strong problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and use of ladders or lifts.
• Occasional kneeling, crawling, or working in confined spaces.
• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in varying weather conditions.

• Technical certificate or associate degree in a relevant field (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance).
• Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.
• Familiarity with building codes, OSHA regulations, and safety protocols.
