Job Summary
The CNC Programmer – Haas is responsible for programming, setting up, and optimizing CNC machining operations using Haas equipment to produce high-quality components that meet engineering specifications and production requirements. This role supports manufacturing efficiency, continuous improvement initiatives, and safe operational practices while ensuring product quality and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities- Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for Haas machining centers and lathes.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds to maximize efficiency and quality.
- Perform machine setup, prove‑out, and first‑article validation.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to improve processes.
- Modify existing programs to improve cycle time, tool life, and product quality.
- Maintain program documentation, setup sheets, and revision control.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and company policies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives including lean manufacturing and cost reduction efforts.
- Train operators on setup procedures and program usage as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years CNC programming experience
, preferably with Haas machines. - Experience with Haas controls and CNC machining centers.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and inspection methods.
- Experience selecting cutting tools and machining strategies.
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges).
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Technical degree or certification in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar).
- Experience in high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Multi‑axis machining experience.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and machining fluids.
This position operates in a manufacturing facility requiring adherence to PPE and safety standards. The role may require overtime based on production needs.
