Electric City Signs is seeking an experienced metal fabricator to build commercial signage. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, with the ability to work on various projects in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a keen attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. The fabricator/welder will be responsible for producing high-quality metal signage, while adhering to safety standards.
Responsibilities- Operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and stick welding techniques.
- Fabricate metal components according to specifications from blueprints and schematics.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as press brake machines and plasma cutters.
- Perform pipe threading, ductwork assembly, and other fabrication tasks as required.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished products using calipers and micrometers.
- Collaborate with team members on construction site projects, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
- Operate forklifts and cranes for material handling when necessary.
- Engage in rigging activities for lifting heavy components safely.
- Proven experience in fabrication and welding within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication processes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience with various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and stick welding.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers accurately.
- Knowledge of basic math principles for measurements and calculations in fabrication tasks.
- Experience with machining processes is a plus.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
