Staff Nurse - North Campus Operating Room

Location:

Anderson, SC

Position:
Staff Registered Nurse

Hours per Week: 36 Hours;
Shift Rotation, Weekends as needed, NO CALL

Located in the heart of Anderson, South Carolina, the North Campus Operating Room provides a collaborative environment for nurses to deliver surgical care across a range of specialties.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with surgical case preparation and patient assessment; circulate operating room procedures (excluding Open Heart cases)
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient needs utilizing the nursing process.
  • Actively participate in providing patient care as defined by a multidisciplinary plan of care.
  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients with diverse cultural backgrounds and varying ages pertinent to assigned areas.
  • Manage and provide patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
  • Travel between AnMed’s Main Medical Center and North Campus is required to support surgical operations across both locations.

Qualifications

AnMed will accept applications from Graduate Nurses that meet SC LLR criteria.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
  • 1-year experience for entry-level staff nurse positions preferred.
  • BSN preferred; ADN candidates must be enrolled in a BSN program within 18 months of hire date. BSN is required within 4 years from date of hire.
  • BLS preferred. Successful completion of hospital-provided BLS course within 90 days from date of hire.
  • Continues to learn and grow professionally through accepting assignments with differing patient load and complexity, clinical development programs, and involvement in professional organization.

AnMed associate degree Nurses (ADN) who were hired as RNs prior to January 1, 2013, and continue to work as an acute care Staff Nurse since that date, were “grandfathered” and the requirement to obtain BSN within four (4) years does not apply.
