Duties & Responsibilities

Oversees onsite Occupational Health program for the employees of Timken, located in Honea Path, SC, to include, but not limited to the following job duties:

  • Delivers comprehensive on-site occupational health programs to support the safety and wellness of employees at local businesses and industrial sites
  • Performs:
    Return to work exams, drug screening (pre-employment, for cause)
  • Manages On the job injuries and schedules referrals as needed for onsite injuries
  • Provide initial first aid treatment and analysis for all on the job injuries/illnesses
  • Provide initial assessment, emergency care and referral for non-work-related injuries/illnesses per treatment guidelines.
  • Manages Vision approval forms and schedules audiograms for associates
  • Maintains OSHA log with Safety department
  • Stocks first Aid cabinets
  • Manages Flu clinics
  • Communicate relevant information to management and employees in a timely and professional manner i.e.: work related injury information, return to work status and drug screen results.
  • Manages and maintains proper protocols for drug screen handling. Maintains up-to-date information on OSHA, Workers Compensation regulations as it relates to services provided for employers. May provide training for staff in these areas when necessary.
  • Coordinates with medical vendors and orders supplies for the occupational health side
  • Serve as liaison between employers, Workers Compensation Insurance companies and third party administrators. Communicates appropriate information to employers and clients promptly and professionally. Assists providers, managers and staff by contacting employees to help resolve problems or questions. Provides services consistent with standards, laws, and company policies.
  • Maintains and safeguards confidentiality of employee health information and health records.
  • Case manager of the Workers Compensation and workflow
  • Access needs of Timken employees and delivery and/or coordination of Health promotions, safety training and educational services, including health fairs, vaccines, ergonomics training, CPR, etc
  • Facilitate STD and FMLA claims
  • Participate on the safety team committee
  • Coordinate and facilitate fork lift physicals (working on eliminating training schedule piece)
  • Manage shoe voucher program
  • Perform biometric screenings for associates
Qualifications for LPN:
  • Licensed LPN in South Carolina
  • Minimum 2–3 years of occupational health experience
  • Critical thinking, strong interpersonal and computer skills
  • Continues to learn and grow professionally through accepting assignments with differing patient load and complexity, clinical development programs, and involvement in professional organization.
Qualifications for Staff Nurse:
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of Occupational health experience
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Critical thinking, strong interpersonal and computer skills
  • ADN candidates must be enrolled in BSN program within 18 months of hire date. BSN is required within 4 years from date of hire.
  • Continues to learn and grow professionally through accepting assignments with differing patient load and complexity, clinical development programs, and involvement in professional organization.

* AnMed associate degree nurses (ADN) who were hired as RNs prior to January 1, 2013, and continue to work as an acute care Staff Nurse since that date, were "grandfathered" and the requirement to obtain BSN within four (4) years does not apply*
