Facilities Technician - Offsite

Position Summary:

The Facilities Technician at Vertiv is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the facility by performing routine maintenance, equipment repairs, and building upkeep. This hands-on role ensures that all systems, machinery, and infrastructure are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs on HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical systems.

* Respond promptly to facility-related work orders, troubleshooting issues and resolving them effectively to reduce downtime.

* Assist in equipment installations, moves, and general facility modifications.

* Monitor and maintain building infrastructure including restrooms, breakrooms, common areas, and office space to ensure cleanliness and functionality.

* Work closely with contractors and vendors during repairs or project work; escort and monitor as needed for safety and compliance.

* Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs for equipment and work performed.

* Support workplace safety initiatives by identifying hazards and ensuring equipment and tools meet safety standards.

* Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and basic groundskeeping duties as needed (site-dependent).

* Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, and notify leadership when reorder is needed.

* Follow all Vertiv safety policies and procedures, promoting a clean and hazard-free work environment.

Required Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED required.

* 2-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building services, or general maintenance work.

* Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.

* Basic computer skills; ability to use maintenance software or CMMS (preferred).

* Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.

* Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

* Frequent standing, walking, bending, and use of ladders or lifts.

* Occasional kneeling, crawling, or working in confined spaces.

* Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Technical certificate or associate degree in a relevant field (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance).

* Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.

* Familiarity with building codes, OSHA regulations, and safety protocols.
