Responsible for efficiently managing the day-to-day activities of all warehousing and distribution functions. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Provide leadership that embodies our 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles. Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the ordering and management of all raw materials
- Manage the receiving, shipping, handling, distribution, and storage of all freight, product, and supplies that come in and out of the facility
- Ensure all orders are shipped in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules
- Communicate all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties
- Maintain strict control over inventory levels in order to meet internal and external customer demand
- Identify discrepancies between inventory records and take action
- Plan and maintain warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization
- Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; make adjustments where necessary
- Assess the need for, and arrange the purchase of moving equipment like trailers, forklifts and dollies and maintaining maintenance of power industrial fleet
- Implement and monitor performance metrics for shipping and receiving
- Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
- Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF Systems
- Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum Position Qualifications/
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field
- Strong oral/written communication skills; ability to communicate to associates, customers and vendors
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn Kroger’s inventory system
- Strong knowledge of warehouse documentation
- Ability to write reports and maintain logs
- Excellent planning and resource allocation skills
- Position level determined by plant size and operational complexity

Experience:
- Direct work experience in a warehouse management function or supply chain management position
- Leadership position in food manufacturing
