, the leading source of storage, handling and security products including fire prevention safety equipment for hazardous materials, environmental protection spill containment devices, and specialized storage products is seekingan Inventory Assistant to join their operation at the Anderson, SC location.

SUMMARY:

The Inventory Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company’s inventory by performing regular cycle counts, identifying and investigating discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company policies. In addition to cycle counting that includes measuring and weighing products, this position will also maintain records, organize products according to protocols, locate lost goods, and report inconsistent or damaged goods.

Moreover, an inventory assistant may also develop and recommend strategies to enhance inventory procedures, aid staff, and participate in maintaining cleanliness in designated work areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitoring and controlling inventory integrity
  • Perform cycle counts based on ABC analysis that includes measuring and weighing products
  • Identify and investigate the root cause of inventory count variances as well as systemic failures
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement corrective/preventative action to resolve and prevent inventory issues
  • Accurately enter the verified inventory variances in the inventory management system.
  • Create and maintain a monthly cycle count accuracy report
  • Maintain product identification labels for designated storage locations
  • Properly document damaged products found internally or delivered by carrier
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing the bi-annual or annual physical inventory counts for the site
  • Crosstrain to support shipping and receiving functions during planned and unplanned absences
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by manager

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of work experience in an inventory related field with similar responsibilities
  • APICS certified in CPIM (Certified Planning Inventory Management) is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to be on your feet throughout most of the day and perform actions such as bending, lifting, twisting, reaching, and climbing
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel
  • Familiarity with ERP system or inventory management software
  • Very strong attention to detail and accuracy is a must
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis
  • Forklift licensed, or the ability to obtain a license
  • Always follow safe work practices
