Are you a qualified carpenter looking for a change?
We are looking for a Carpenter to join our Planned Works Team in Hampshire.
What youll be doing
Youll be completing a range of carpentry works including fitting kitchen units, kitchen worktops, plinths, wall tiling, bath panels and hanging doors, both internal and external. Youll also fit grab rails and shower seats when required, along with any other works associated with general carpentry.
A working knowledge of other trades, such as plumbing, is also required, with the ability to use this knowledge as directed by your line manager.
Youll be working in our customers homes, so youll have a customer service focus to get to the bottom of problems and find the right solution. Youll work as part of a team of trades, so therell always be someone available to support you when needed.
Youll need to be comfortable working at height, including from ladders, tower working platforms and mobile elevated work platforms.
Internally, you will be known as a Carpenter Level 1.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Have a carpentry qualification, NVQ or equivalent
- Have experience carrying out carpentry repairs and installations
- Be able to identify the cause of problems and specify the materials needed to complete repairs
- Have a good working knowledge of other trades, such as plumbing
- Be confident using IT, including PDAs and smartphones
- Have good communication skills and be confident dealing with customers in their homes
- Be able to work independently and manage your own workload, as well as work well as part of a team and alongside other trade operatives
- Be comfortable working at height when required
We will provide you with a company van, so you will need to be comfortable travelling between customers homes around Hampshire and have a full UK manual driving licence.
