We are seeking a SBS Supervisor to join our Strategic Business Solutions Team based in our Andover office on a flexible hybrid basis.
ResponsibilitiesServe as a day-to-day client contact for assigned engagements, developing strong relationships and supporting overall client satisfaction.
Lead and execute accounting and tax engagements for privately held businesses, family-owned businesses, business owners, and individual clients.
Prepare and review financial statements and related work papers, with an emphasis on review and compilation engagements.
Assist clients with accounting needs including journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger activity, monthly close, and year-end close.
Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, and individuals, including Forms 1065, 1120S, and 1040.
Assist with tax planning, projections, estimated payments, and other year-round client needs.
Participate in retirement plan audit engagements, as applicable.
Coordinate engagement schedules and monitor progress against budgets, deadlines, and client expectations.
Review work performed by associates and senior-level staff to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely completion.
Provide coaching, technical guidance, and ongoing feedback to junior team members.
Identify accounting, financial reporting, and tax issues and work collaboratively with Managers and Partners to develop appropriate solutions.
Develop an understanding of each client's business and proactively identify opportunities to provide additional accounting, tax, and business support.
Collaborate with Partners, Managers, and other professionals across the Firm to deliver comprehensive client service.
Manage multiple priorities and engagements in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting required.
Approximately 3+ years of recent public accounting experience preferred.
Experience serving privately held, family-owned, or closely held businesses and their owners preferred.
A blended background in financial statement/accounting and tax work is strongly preferred.
Strong experience with financial statement reviews and compilations.
Hands-on accounting experience including journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger activity, and monthly or year-end close preferred.
Experience preparing and/or reviewing partnership, S corporation, and individual tax returns, including Forms 1065, 1120S, and 1040.
Retirement plan audit experience is a plus; broader traditional audit experience is not required.
Previous experience reviewing work and providing guidance to junior staff preferred.
CPA or EA designation, or active progress toward certification, preferred.
Excellent written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills.
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines while maintaining a high level of client service.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Pay Range:
The salary range for this position is included below.
