Elementary Assistant Principal

Under the general direction of the Principal, provide curriculum, supervision, administrative, and instructional leadership to facilitate the educational development of all students and promote a healthy and safe school environment. Assist in the supervision and implementation of the school's educational programs.

• Assist in the supervision and implementation of the school's educational programs.
• Work in concert with the building principal, program coordinators, and program heads to develop, revise, and evaluate the curriculum, and in the in‑service training of teachers.
• Assist with the recruitment, screening, evaluation, and coaching of the school's professional staff.
• Assist in the supervision of professional, paraprofessional, administrative, and non‑professional personnel assigned to the school.
• Improve the quality of instruction and enhance student‑related activities.
• Work with enrichment teams to organize and monitor enrichment activities.
• Supervise the student body and handle routine disciplinary matters, communicating with parents as needed.
• Schedule, organize, and facilitate math and literacy data meetings, organize school data into Excel documents, and coordinate district and state assessments.

• Evidence of a minimum of five years of highly successful elementary teaching experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child growth and development for children ages 5–11.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current elementary curricula and instructional techniques.
• Experience evaluating and coaching teachers is strongly preferred.
• Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or willingness to acquire these skills.
• Demonstrated technological, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
• Competency working with Excel and Google Docs.
• Knowledge of current elementary curricula such as Readers Workshop, Writers Workshop, Math In Focus, Fountas and Pinnell Classroom, Foss Science.
• Knowledge of Social Emotional Learning.

• Massachusetts school principal certification required.
• Master's degree required; evidence of educational coursework preferred.
