Work hours:
10:30 am - 6:30 pm or 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
Reporting to the Administrative Dean/ Assistant Principal. Responsibilities include providing safety and security protection for members of the Greater Lawrence Technical community, school property, and ensuring compliance with the department's regulations, state and federal laws, and the student code of conduct.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Works with the Administrative Dean/ Assistant Principal in the Peer Mediation Program.
- Monitor, control and direct the flow of traffic on and off campus as well as the student and faculty parking lots.
- Direct visitors to the designated parking area and instruct them to report to the security desk to check‑in and receive proper security passes.
- Notify the Student Discipline Office of students leaving campus without proper authorization, student behavioral concerns, vehicle violations and suspicious circumstances.
- Notify the Assistant Principal when local public safety officials are on school property.
- Supervise hallways, bathrooms and the school cafeteria or other areas as assigned.
- Enforce the rules and regulations as outlined in the Student Handbook as well as the rules for student behavior as outlined in the Faculty Handbook.
- Enforce the security procedures established by the district.
- Enforce the “No Smoking Law”.
- Any other duties as required.
High School and 5 years of experience working in the security field.
ABILITY, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS- Excellent customer service skills, proficiency in computer word processing, ability to handle multiple tasks, and ability to respond well under pressure.
- Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills; a general pleasant demeanor and respectful attitude toward students, parents, and employees at all levels of the school.
- Frequently required to stand and talk or hear. Frequently required to walk. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (e.g., school supplies and books).
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. Must meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
- Noise level is moderate to loud.

Job Requirements- At least 5 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
