Position: Math Permanent Substitute Teacher

Responsibilities
  • Integrate social learning into the classroom and work to foster an identity‑safe, empathetic, active learning community.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans for five classes of Math that articulate clear learning targets aligned with the 2017 Massachusetts Curriculum Framework for Mathematics.
  • Communicate regularly with students and families and involve families as partners in their child’s education.
  • Collaborate with all team members, including but not limited to, special educators, instructional coaches, paraprofessionals, interventionists, and other support personnel.
  • Assess students regularly and refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to establish and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff and student body.
  • Knowledge of 2017 Massachusetts Curriculum Framework for Mathematics.
  • A strong work ethic and a growth mindset.
  • Strong classroom community‑building skills and restorative justice approaches to discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Massachusetts Teacher Certification in 9-12 Mathematics required.
