Senior Hardware Power Electronics Engineer

Schneider Electric is looking for a Senior Hardware Power Electronics Engineer to develop next‑generation 3‑phase UPS and DC power conversion systems within our global R&D organization. For this U.S. based position, the compensation range is $96,000 – $145,000 per year, which includes base pay and short‑term incentive. The range applies to candidates located within the United States.

- Design and document electronic hardware: schematics, layouts, BOMs, cable harnesses
- Lead or contribute to design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Specify, qualify, and test electronic components and prototypes
- Cross‑collaborate with firmware and electromechanical engineering teams through testing and validation
- Perform hardware simulations and modeling
- Troubleshoot and resolve electronics and component issues across the product lifecycle
- Collaborate with industrialization and manufacturing teams to optimize design and cost
- Investigate field failures and drive corrective actions
- Execute design failure mode effect analysis and worst‑case analysis
- Plan and report work progress in agile/scrum environments
- Strong experience in power electronics hardware design, including high‑frequency supplies (inductors, HF transformers, etc.)
- Hands‑on electronics troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency with ECAD tools (Cadence preferred) and simulation tools
- Experience in product development for series/volume production
- Knowledge of safety standards (IEC/UL 62477‑1/62040, UL1778/UL1741) is a plus
- Experience with 3‑phase (480
VAC/60
Hz) and DC power conversion (800 VDC) and digital/embedded electronics is beneficial
- Bachelor's degree in Power Electronics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (Master’s a plus)
- Minimum 5 years relevant engineering experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
