Senior Operations Quality Engineer
Location:
Andover, Massachusetts
Role Type:
Onsite
- Baseline factory metrics (Scrap, Rework, FPY, etc.) to identify top drivers, forecast future demand, and highlight improvement opportunities.
- Engage MFG DPT teams to ensure alignment on top priorities, drive containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Perform process walks, observe operators, and lead MFG team discussions to reduce process variation.
- Lead or support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives, including PFMEA, control plans, and SPC.
- Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and backflow to the Supplier Quality Management team.
- Validate and verify improvements to confirm their effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced degree in a related technical field with at least 3 years of experience.
- Manufacturing process experience in assembly, inspection, or test.
- Proven ability to identify root cause and implement effective short‑term and long‑term corrective actions.
- Experience developing or using quality metrics to drive root cause analysis and long‑term corrective action.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret).
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience managing cross‑functional process improvement teams.
- Strong familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, Six Sigma, Customer‑Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE), or Lean tools.
- Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and related tools such as PPAP, Key Characteristics, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
- Proficiency in business/data analytics, pareto analysis, cause‑effect diagrams, and process mapping.
- Association with ASQ certifications is an advantage.
