As a Power Module Component Engineer, you’ll collaborate with top AI, Server, Communication, and Industrial customers and respective marketing teams, shaping the next generation of high density power modules. Be part of the team driving innovation in PS and POL Module design.
Job DescriptionIn your new role you will:
- Direct and guide the activities with Infineon component suppliers and the Infineon Power Module design engineers to specify, develop, and qualify components used in the Power Modules.
- Plan and implement the module inductor, capacitor, and other component needs roadmap based on the Power Module engineers' present and future needs.
- Create evaluation and life test plans and fixtures for component evaluation and quality assessment.
- Automate and perform bench testing using the procedures to evaluate and life test components used in the Power Modules.
- Create source control documents for components used in the Power Modules.
- Work with purchasing, production and design engineering on component cost down efforts.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including component suppliers and Power Module design engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality engineers, to ensure successful product development and launch.
- Find a path forward when technical and/or business issues arise on module components.
- Engage in continuous learning about magnetics assemblies, magnetic materials, capacitors, and semiconductors.
- Work with external vendors to drive technology and roadmaps to align with power module design needs.
- Develop a component verification strategy including the development of necessary test strategies and equipment to enable validation of new components.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE or MSEE) from an accredited institution.
- At least 5 years of experience in component engineering, with a focus on power module development and production.
- Experience in specifying and evaluating components, including inductors/magnetics, capacitors, resistors, and semiconductors.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis, electromagnetism, and materials science.
- Proficiency in simulation tools, such as SPICE, COMSOL, or ANSYS.
- Experience with material characterization techniques, including dielectric spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, and X-ray diffraction.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions.
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
In the United States, it is required to disclose a salary range to applicants. The wage range that the company expects to pay for a qualified candidate in the United States is:
Andover, MA, Warwick, RI Minimum of $125,120 per year and maximum of $172,040 per year.
