The department develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.
Role: RF/Microwave/CAD Engineer – responsible for the complete product cycle from MMIC and module modeling, design, CAD layout, test, and prototyping.
Responsibilities- Design and/or test MMIC or module products and test fixtures at RF/microwave frequencies
- Develop insights that extend your knowledge in the RF/Microwave field and form the basis of new concepts, theories, and products
- Design RF structures and transitions for multi-layer, multi-channel RF modules and analog circuitry enabling both receive and transmit behavior
- Consult across MMIC design, module design, test and assembly teams
- Create layouts and perform design checks and physical verification on RF Integrated Circuits (RFIC) and Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMIC)
- Prepare designs for photomask order and delivery into Raytheon’s III-V Semiconductor Fab
- Act independently to troubleshoot, uncover and resolve issues
- Perform RF/microwave/millimeter-wave measurements on GaAs and GaN devices, modules and MMICs (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits)
- Perform fixtured and on-wafer probe measurements
- Assemble RF/microwave/millimeter-wave test systems
- Use software to control test equipment and plot test results
- Research and develop new technology that results in new product/business opportunities for Raytheon
- Serve as a technical resource and represent the Department as a technical contact to Raytheon and external customers
