Job Summary

1st Shift Wet Etch Process Support Engineer – working on gallium arsenide, gallium nitride, and III‑V focal plane array fabrication within the RF Microelectronics/Module Design & Foundry Services (RFMicro) Department at Raytheon, located in Andover, MA.

• Process wafers to create FETs, MMICs, and FPAs in a cleanroom environment.
• Engineer support and training for manufacturing personnel.
• Attend morning tier meetings and review lots and wafers requiring special disposition.
• Perform failure analysis of tools and processes.
• Assist work‑center leads in tool and process qualification efforts.
• Identify ways to reduce rework and scrap and increase line efficiency.
• Maintain and improve production processes.
• Run process qualifications and troubleshoot out‑of‑control events.
• Communicate with manufacturing personnel, equipment teams, cell leads, and engineering leads.
• Work autonomously with limited oversight and influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
• Stay on the manufacturing floor for quick resolution of issues and to prevent interruption to customer commitments.
• Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
• Collaborate with small cross‑functional teams.

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 4 years of experience in semiconductor processing techniques (photolithography, dry etching, metal evaporation, optical or scanning electron microscopy).
• Experience with wet chemistry processes (wet etches) and electroplating.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (DoD Secret).
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask and maintain organized, documented processes.
• Strong team orientation and ability to work well in small cross‑functional teams.
• Drive to learn and improve the areas in which you work.

• Advanced STEM degree.
• Ability to present and communicate effectively across functions.
• Ability to document and present process development status in meetings.
• Knowledge related to semiconductor processing and data analysis.
• Experience utilizing data analysis software packages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, SQL, JMP).
• Experience with quality standards and audits.

• Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
