We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Manufacturing Engineering team in the Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) area.
Primary responsibilities include engagement with the Operations team and other engineering disciplines including Design, Test, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to manage production issues in the CCA assembly process. Attention to detail, excellent communication and organizational skills, and an innovative approach will contribute to success. The day-to-day responsibilities include resolution of production issues, initiate and contribute to process improvement and cost initiatives, cycle time reduction projects, and develop manufacturing process documentation.
The desired candidate will be capable to work in a dynamic team environment. Extensive, on the job training is provided.
What You Will Do
- Create and oversee projects using risk management techniques
- Translate engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation
- Program manufacturing automation
- Disposition of discrepant hardware
- Lead root cause and corrective action investigations to solve problems and prevent recurrence
- Identify/Lead process improvement and cost reduction initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodology
- Develop and support Manufacturing process
- Conduct safety/ergonomic assessments
- Interact with senior personnel on technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and/or suppliers.
- Develop Tool/fixtures to drive ergonomics and reductions in cost and/or defect
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of work experience.
- Minimum 3 year of previous manufacturing experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Knowledge and experience with ANSI J-STD-001 Class 3
- Experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principals
- Experience with supporting circuit card assembly production floor, (process and/or quality focus).
- Specialized Tooling Development (Jigs, Fixtures, Specialized Packaging Development)
- Knowledge and ability to apply Six Sigma principles and techniques
- Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology
- Experience in DFMA
- Self-motivated and results oriented
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
- Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools
- Active DoD security clearance (confidential)
- Experience with automated equipment and programming
- Experience with the development of new manufacturing processes to support volume manufacturing
