Job Summary
Raytheon seeks a 1st Shift Backside Process Support Engineer for our weekend process support team in the RF Microelectronics/Module Design & Foundry Services Department. The engineer will work in the Andover foundry on III‑V backside processes, including wafer bonding, debonding, and bonded wafer processing. The role requires a basic understanding of microelectronics processing techniques (deposition, photolithography, etch) and a focus on III‑V backside processing.
The engineer will provide engineering support, training, failure analysis, and process qualification, and will collaborate with manufacturing personnel, equipment teams, and engineering leads. Presence on the manufacturing floor is required for rapid issue resolution.
- Process wafers to create FETs, MMICs, and FPAs in a cleanroom environment.
- Work autonomously with limited oversight.
- Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
- Review and disposition wafers on hold for evaluation in the work center.
- Work well in small, cross‑functional teams and assist in maintaining or improving production processes.
- Actively communicate with parties within and outside the work center (shift engineers, work center leads, operation leads, manufacturing personnel, equipment teams).
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). Advanced degree is an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in semiconductor processing (photolithography, dry etching, metal evaporation, optical or scanning electron microscopy).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Strong documentation and presentation skills for process development status.
- Knowledge of semiconductor processing and data analysis.
- Experience with data analysis software (MATLAB, Python, SQL, JMP).
- Experience with quality standards and audits.
- Effective cross‑functional communication.
Salary range: 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD.
